The firm has recently successfully completed a complex accounting and tax consultancy project, focusing on the proper management of VAT within the Netsuite accounting system. The engagement took place in a context of growing attention to tax compliance, responding to the client’s need to strengthen the reliability of its accounting data and VAT returns.

The activity involved an in-depth analysis of VAT flows, both under the ordinary regime and the margin scheme, with the objective of identifying potential issues and proposing operational solutions in line with current regulations.
A central part of the project concerned the study of the mechanisms linking accounting entries (sales and purchase invoices) with VAT ledgers, with particular attention to the following components:
- VAT on sales
- VAT on purchases
- VAT settlement account
Subsequently, a thorough review of VAT registers and monthly VAT settlements was carried out, with a specific focus on the correct calculation of the margin in cases provided for by law. The engagement also included a historical reconstruction of data and validation of information for the preparation of the annual VAT return, ensuring full consistency between the data in Netsuite and that recorded in the accounting registers.
The outcome of the activity was highly positive: the client now has a solid, consistent, and fiscally reliable database, capable of effectively supporting periodic and annual compliance requirements.
